Zee Telefilms Limited has had the distinction of being the pioneers in every

Cine Awards with the objective of rewarding the best in Indian Cinema. What
followed year on year was the most anticipated award show for excellence in the
field of Indian Cinema and Music. Zee Cine Awards in the 8 years of its
existence established itself as the most prestigious award for Bollywood – the
Indian Cinema Industry.
The year 2004 saw the pages of award show history being re-written, with
the Zee Cine Awards escalating the standards and taking it onto a global stage –
Dubai. With worldwide audiences becoming a part of this historic event, Zee Cine
Awards ‘2004 re-established itself as the “Industry Benchmark for Excellence in
Indian Cinema”. It was the people’s award, as the people of India through voting
selected the five popular categories –Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director,
Best Film and Best Song of the Year. It was the first Truly Democratic Award
Event in the history of Global Indian Cinema.
The year 2005 will see the standards escalated many notches higher, as Zee
Cine Awards becomes the only Global Viewer’s Choice award of its kind. To be
staged in London, Zee Cine Awards ‘2005 will not only be just “Larger than Life,
but Bigger than Imagination”. It will be the first award event to decide the
winners of the five popular categories through 100% people voting across 80
countries worldwide. Zee Cine Awards will be the only award event in the Global
Indian Cinema Industry, which is “By the People, Of the People and For the
People”.
